Combining paint and collage with mostly a pastel palette, Suzanne Sbarge's new paintings explore a surreal dreamscape, teeming with a variety of elements from the natural world. The ubiquitous birds, roots, and flowers form the personal iconography Sbarge uses to illustrate life's ambiguities. The artist playfully initiates narrative connections by combining a variety of disparate visual elements that provoke our tacit assumptions regarding the nature of reality.
Sbarge received her Bachelors in Art History and Studio Arts Degrees' from Barnard College and her Masters Degree in Art Education from the University of New Mexico. The artist has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally and is represented in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
