Abstraction has always existed in art, as a way of exploring line, shape, form and color without the need of representing the physical world. In this exhibition, Abstractions, we explore contemporary trends in field of non-objective art by four artists.  Santa Fe artist, Richard Berman paints delicate and meditative works of visual depth through multiple layers of glazing.  San Francisco artist, Howard Hersh uses acrylic paint on birch panels where his abstraction expands into a structure beyond the picture plane.  Working in his studio in the Southwest of France, Guillaume Seff’s paintings explore a balance between surface tension and symbolic language.  Austin-based artist, Sunny Taylor creates captivating geometric patterns with delicate hints of contrasting colors.  Together, these four artists show us that the possibilities in the medium of abstraction continue to unfold in novel ways.
