(SANTA FE, NM) Nüart Gallery proudly presents Structures, a two-person exhibition featuring recent paintings by Joseph Ostraff and sculptures by Adrián Fernández. This exhibition, running from August 8 through August 31, 2025, explores themes of memory, constructed narratives, and the human relationship with architectural form.

Joseph Ostraff’s paintings are visual explorations of human connections to landscape and memory. His series “(Un)Folding / Monuments” captures the complexity and fluidity of memories as they evolve and reshape over time. Ostraff employs carefully considered geometric compositions and layered color fields, creating works that document shifting narratives and personal histories. His practice investigates the human desire for legacy and the ways memories are visually encoded.

Joseph Ostraff, a recipient of three Fellowship Awards from the Utah Arts Council, has widely exhibited his work both domestically and internationally. He is currently a professor at Brigham Young University, recognized for his influential contributions to contemporary art through extensive collaborative and interdisciplinary projects.

Adrián Fernández presents his sculptural series “Sketch for a Monument,” crafted from welded weathering steel. Fernández’s sculptures explore architectural and ideological concepts, evoking structures that suggest evolving monuments or visionary architectural forms. His deliberate construction of rusted, industrial forms speaks to the passage of time, ideological shifts, and narratives of cultural memory.

Fernández studied at the Superior Institute of Arts in Havana and has gained international acclaim through his multidisciplinary practice, including photography, sculpture, and installation art. His works are included in significant collections such as The Houston Museum of Fine Arts and Pérez Art Museum Miami.

In StructuresOstraff and Fernández individually address memory, cultural heritage, and the built environment through distinctive yet complementary artistic languages.
