Willy Bo Richardson: Time Dissolves Here

December 5 – December 21, 2025

Nüart Gallery presents Time Dissolves Here, a new exhibition by Santa Fe–born artist Willy Bo Richardson, on view from December 5 through December 21, 2025. The exhibition will open with a reception on Friday, December 5, from 5:00–7:00 pm.

Richardson is known for his luminous chromatic paintings, which explore the emotional and psychological resonance of color. Through movement, vibration, and flow, he creates spectral planes that invite stillness and contemplation—a place where time seems to dissolve.

His work is grounded in the physical act of painting. The intuitive cadence of his brushwork translates into a visual experience that feels both meditative and alive, where repetition becomes a kind of visual music. Letting intuition take precedence over deliberation, Richardson approaches painting as a physical dialogue—a direct, embodied response to color and gesture.

For Richardson, color operates as an emotional geometry: a system of relationships that push and pull, harmonize and collide. He explores how certain hues can soothe while others energize, striving to create combinations that evoke a balanced emotional response—both calming and awakening.

Born in Santa Fe in 1974, Richardson was influenced early by the region’s creative community and distinctive light. Since returning in 2007, he has continued to develop a practice shaped by focus, tempo, and an ongoing conversation with place.

At its core, Time Dissolves Here is about creating space—for stillness, rhythm, and presence. It offers an invitation to pause, to feel, and to return to the essential elements of being.
