Alexandra Eldridge: meetings with my daemons

6 - 22 September 2013

Alexandra Eldridge’s paintings explore the space between the temporal outer world and the latent internal world. Blending cultivation and physicality with imagination and supernal longings she uses collage, paint and Venetian plaster to create works that are both earthy and transcendent.

In this solo exhibition, “Meetings with My Daemons”, Eldridge’s paintings recount a deep revelatory experience she had in Kauai, where she had a vision of her soul image.  As she subsequently proceeded to paint, her unconscious continued to stream various animals and symbols. These mythical encounters form the basis of this body of work and speak to the power of an artist to give form to our innermost thoughts.

Alexandra Eldridge has exhibited her work nationally and internationally in over 40 solo and group exhibitions. She has also conducted numerous workshops and had residencies in France, Italy, Spain and throughout the United States. She currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
